    SCCI has a job opportunity for a subject matter expert in US Navy Navigation Systems to provide Navy Modernization (NM) Configuration Management (CM) support to the PEO IWS 6.0 Major Program Manager (MPM) ensuring compatible and interoperable navigation systems with all platform level warfare systems. This position is located in Dam Neck, VA.


    The Navigation Configuration Management Analyst will provide combat systems engineering and technical support as well as subject matter expertise to IWS 6.0 in the development and maintenance of Carrier, Cruiser, Destroyer, and Amphibious platforms Navigation Systems Interface Diagrams (NSIDs).


    The NAV CM Analyst will perform detailed review and analysis of Ship Change Documents (SCDs), Modernization Fielding Plans, and Modernization Databases such as the Warfare Interface System Engineering (WISE), Advanced Configuration Control and Engineering Status System (ACCESS), and Navy Data Environment (NDE) databases. 


    NAV CM Analyst Responsibilities also include:

    • Update, maintain, and administrate the Navigation Suite System Configuration Change Records (NSSCCR) database which is the management tool for updates to the NSIDs.
    • Assess and provide data identifying discrepancies between IWS 6 approved navigation suite system changes and ship maintenance availability planning documents.
    • Conduct impact analyses documenting technical issues related to current and future navigation system fielding and capability updates.
    • Provide support for navigation suite Integrated Product Team (IPT) and Technical Interchange (TI) meetings.
    • Track and maintain the status of IPT/TI meeting minutes and action items.
    • Support the development and maintenance of USN shipboard network topology and IT infrastructure diagrams to the level of detail necessary to provide situational awareness for ship's force during Cyber events.
    • Perform Quality Assurance (QA) and Audit checks for data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
    • Generate and provide metrics as related to configuration installations.
    • Create and maintain program data using computer-based systems and program data from authoritative sources.
    • Prepares configuration documentation and maintain Configuration Management (CM) databases.


    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have a minimum of an ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Conversant with Warfare System Interface Diagrams (WSIDs), warfare system network diagrams and database development/maintenance.
    • Expert knowledge of navigation system engineering as it relates to proposed changes to navigation suite systems and/or system network configurations in accordance with Navy modernization processes and developmental milestones.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to collect data from difference sources and pull information from reports.
    • Ability to effectively communicate within a team environment and across organizational levels to include co-workers, managers, and government customers.
    • Ability and willingness to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS) as needed (1 to 2 times per year).
    • Ability to work independently.

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • 10-15 years of Configuration Management experience.
    • Experience related to navigation systems, weapons systems, and/or Navy programs.
    • Working knowledge of the Navy Modernization Process (NMP) and the ACCESS database.
