  • Overview

    SCCI has an immediate opening for a Configuration Management Analyst to participate on a team providing Documentation Management (DM) support. This position provides support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division and is located in Dahlgren, Virginia.


    The Configuration Management Analyst will:

    • Perform configuration management / data management functions: planning, configuration identification, status accounting, configuration control and audits, data management
    • Perform research to validate program documentation for ships and sites with multiple Baselines, equipment variants and applicable upgrades
    • Perform schedule analysis in support of Fleet Operations to forecast documentation delivery on time and efficiently
    • Coordinate with Government customer to conduct on site shipboard and site documentation audits as required
    • Provide consultation on Documentation Management database upgrades and transitions
    • Daily use of the Naval Surface Warfare center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Advance Configuration Control Engineering Status System (ACCESS) database and Virtual Integrated Engineering War room Network (VIEWNet) for research, transmittal preparation and audit reports
    • Provide timely and accurate documentation metrics to ships and sites upon receipt of time critical Requests for Information (RFI)
    • Provide timely and accurate documentation delivery forecasts to government customer weekly
    • Generate Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) Documentation reports utilizing Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) in order to identify documentation deficiencies and future document deliveries in support of Fleet Operations
    • Maintain data records and libraries with updated status accounting information
    • Represent the DM team at program meetings ensuring that DM concerns are communicated and impacts to DM are brought back for issue resolution
    • Perform documentation audits and develop audit reports
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of DM processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)


    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • 1-5 years of experience providing configuration management support
    • Must be willing to travel approximately 1 week of every month; Travel will depend on Ship schedules
    • Proficient with MS Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Proficient in performing software audits
    • Possess a general knowledge of CM functional areas: configuration planning, configuration control, configuration status accounting, configuration audits, configuration identification
    • Ability to effectively communicate across all organizational levels to include co-workers, managers and government customers
    • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments
    • Attention to detail and the ability to work well independently and in a team environment
    • Initiative to follow up and complete assignments in a timely manner
    • Ability to write clear, logically sequenced, and grammatically correct documents

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or related discipline
    • Previous CM board support or audit experience
    • Previous media labelling and transmittal experience both classified and unclassified handling in ACCESS
    • Experience with SharePoint and/or VIEWNet
    • Strong research and analytical skills
    • Experience using Advanced Change Control and Engineering Status System (ACCESS), or related Navy CM databases
