    SCCI has several openings for a Junior Web Applications Developer to provide programming support for a web-enabled information management application suite. Our software engineering team is a cohesive, creative group of individuals with varying levels of experience. We employ an Agile Scrum-based methodology and work in sprints.  The team collaborates on designs and implementations. Our senior staff mentors new members to familiarize them with our processes, toolkit, and user community. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA. Come join our team!

    Responsibilities

    • Design and develop web applications
    • Design relational databases
    • Write and maintain application documentation
    • Peer test application updates
    • Work in Windows, Unix, and Linux environments

    Qualifications

    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to successfully obtain a SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE
    • 3 years of technical experience with custom information systems development; Academic and Internship experience will be considered toward experience requirements
    • Experience and strong desire to invent new ways of approaching problems and developing innovative applications
    • Strong skills in debugging and troubleshooting applications to facilitate fixes and improvements.
    • Ability to clearly communicate ideas to coders, teammates and management
    • Experience building information management applications and working with relational databases
    • Experience working as part of a team of developers, coders, testers, and CM specialists
    • Experience in 2 of the following toolsets:
      • Web page content tools (ie., HTML , CSS 3 , JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax)
      • net
      • PHP
      • Java
      • SQL or PL/SQL
      • Graphics tools 

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Associate's Degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or Math
    • Security + CE Certification or desire to attain
    • Windows Server 2012 R2 or higher experience
    • Oracle database development with SQL tools using 11g or 12c
    • Version control tools including git or Subversion
