  • Overview

    SCCI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team supporting the newly awarded H43 Contract supporting Battle Management System (BMS). This position will be located in Dahlgren, VA and is available immediately. 

    Responsibilities

    • Provide Software Engineering technical support and code development
    • Provided mentorship for Jr – Mid Software Engineers
    • Support software engineering code – design reviews
    • Perform requirements assessments and requirements decomposition
    • Code to model system behavior through functional flows and functional descriptions
    • Develop and brief software engineering presentations and reports

    Qualifications

    Education Requirements/Professional Experience:

     

    *The candidate must meet one of the Educational Requirements below*

    • A Bachelor’s degree from a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited in one of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering; OR A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mathematics, or Computer Science or Physics;
    • A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science; or
    • A Ph.D degree from and accredited college or University in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science.

    General Experience

    • Minimum fifteen (15) years of full-time professional experience in Software Engineering supporting the Department of Defense in program development, modeling, and/or simulation if the Candidate has a Bachelor’s degree; or
    • Minimum ten (10) years of full-time professional experience in Software Engineering supporting the Department of Defense in program development, modeling, and/or simulation if the Candidate has a Master’s degree; or
    • Minimum eight (8) years of full-time professional experience in Software Engineering supporting the Department of Defense in program development, modeling, and/or simulation if the Candidate has a Ph.D degree;

    Specialized Experience

    • Five (5) years of experience directly in support of the Navy or Joint Systems Command.
    • Three (3) years of demonstrated proficiency in software development using at least two (2) of the following: Various Linux distributions (e.g. Red Hat, CentOS), embedded systems (e.g. Atmel/Rabbit processors), C/C++ and Java programming languages, or Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) design/layout and programming (e.g. Xilinx, Altera, Actel).
