    SCCI is seeking a Software Requirements Specialist who will provide technical support to a software development team by specifying and documenting functional and end-user requirements, including analyzing and documenting business processes and workflows.


    This position is with the Requirements, Test, and Training (RT&T) group in support of rapid development of software information systems supporting the Navy and other major DoD programs.


    A successful candidate will bring general knowledge of information systems requirements analysis and design, traceability methods and processes, demonstrated in academic, professional or military experience.  The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work multiple simultaneous tasks in a fast paced environment. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA. 


    This position will be part of a team that is responsible for the acquisition, verification, and documentation of functional software requirements for information management application systems. This position will support agile software development teams by conducting and vetting requirements for application system enhancement and maintenance.  The duties performed will be in accordance with the software development lifecycle to include the following:

    • Conducting formal functional requirements reviews with the user community and relevant stakeholders
    • Analyzing and documenting the functional requirements to convey the information to technical test teams responsible for systems development and maintenance and Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) of application updates
    • Documenting requirements to the level of the technical detail necessary for conducting complete testing including regression and endurance testing
    • Presenting requirements to technical developer staff and acting as liaison with the customer test community to convey functional requirements from the user community to the technical development team


    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE.
    • Five (5) years of experience specifying and documenting functional and end-user requirements, including analyzing and documenting business processes and workflows for major and emerging DoD programs.
    • Two (2) years of experience working with database design and proficiency in extracting data using SQL.
    • Ability to effectively communicate application functional requirements verbally and in formal reports with higher authorities (e.g. Program Management) and technical team members.
    • Experience training application users including developing written training materials.
    • Experience working with the Windows operating environment, and the Microsoft Office Suite.

      • Work in a fast paced, rapidly changing range/field environment.
      • Work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, military personnel.
      • Work with others to meet established goals and program schedules.
      • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Active Secret Security Clearance is highly preferred.
    • Knowledge of information systems development and maintenance preferred.
