    SCCI is seeking a Test Engineer who will support Independent Validation and Verification (IV&V) testing to ensure conformance of software functionality prior to weapons system application release to the fleet.

     

    A successful candidate will bring a knowledge base of information of systems design, test and troubleshooting methods and processes, such as those demonstrated in academic, professional or military laboratory environments.  The candidate must demonstrate the ability to learn new technical concepts quickly. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

    Responsibilities

    This position is in support of the newly awarded E30 Contract and will be part of a team that is responsible for the independent evaluation and conformance of software functionality and documentation products required for application system release. This position will support software and hardware testing.  The duties performed will be in accordance with the customer’s Test and Evaluation requirements and associated test documentation, to include the following:

    • Assess requirements and develop Test Procedures / Plans for a variety of system tests.
    • Conduct IV&V of corrected application deficiencies, participate in regression testing, endurance testing, and provide procedural red line updates as required.
    • Provide real-time documentation of critical thinking/test methodology to ensure a valid test is performed to meet requirement specifications.
    • Conduct System Testing of program requirements in accordance with technical application design documentation.
    • Document and present findings to technical developer staff and act as liaison with the customer test community to convey test findings from the user community to the technical development team.

    Qualifications

    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an Active Secret Security Clearance.
    • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, technical discipline or equivalent experience.
    • Direct hands-on experience with a particular system application.
    • Three (3) years of experience testing software intensive DOD weapon system.
    • Experience developing testing strategies and detailed test procedures, based on system requirements, as well as test execution.
    • Experience and knowledge of systems engineering and testing practices throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle.
    • Proven problem solving, written and oral communication skills and the ability to:
    • Work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.
    • Work in a rapidly changing range/field environment.
    • Work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, military personnel.
    • Work with others to meet established goals and program schedules.

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Experience with any of the working in Linux and Unix environments.
    • Experience with any of the following: C, C++, Java, Ada programming languages.
    • Experience supporting Department of Defense (or related) programs.
    • Experience with the DOD Acquisition lifecycle.
