  • Overview

    SCCI is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Amazon Web Services Cloud Architect to join our team. The selected candidate will be an expert in all aspects of Cloud Computing and Engineering who readily adapts to support a variety of challenging technical requirements in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.  


    • Develop and building cloud-based solutions/platforms based on technical best practices with a focus on scalability and high performance.
    • Selecting the appropriate AWS service based on data, compute, database, or security requirements.
    • Provide systems engineering activities such as Concept of Operations Formulation, Requirements Definition, Analysis and Engineering, System Architecting, System Analysis and Design, Interface and Data Architectures, Validation and Verification, System Integration, System & Op. Participate in development and planning meetings.
    • Design, plan, and integrate cloud computing and virtualization systems using infrastructure as code and modern cloud-native deployment techniques such as DevOps and/or DevSecOps.
    • Introduce new cloud technologies, processes and toolsets.
    • Develop and conduct testing of cloud and virtualization systems.
    • Develop automation scripts for efficient deployment and operations of cloud and virtualization systems.
    • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
    • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
    • Provide input on design, implementation, operations, user guides, and training materials for the AWS environment.
    • Review and provide input to AWS policies and standard operating procedures.
    • Evaluate and recommend E2E solutions based on AWS services or hybrid solutions
    • Define solution architecture and develop estimates and plans.
    • Act as a Subject Matter Expert within AWS and be a mentor for junior colleagues.


    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to successfully obtain a SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE
    • Bachelors (B.A. or B.S.) degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field
    • 3+ years of experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud architecture, operations, DevOps, or administration
    • In depth understanding of Cloud Migration methodologies and best practices
    • 2 to 10 years of experience with defining and implementing Technical Architecture
    • One or several of the below certifications:
      • Certified AWS Solutions Architect – Professional
      • Certified AWS Solutions Architect – Associate
      • Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional
      • Certified Developer – Associate
    • Ability to identify and define requirements for an AWS-based application
    • Capability to provide best practices for building secure and reliable applications on the AWS platform
    • High degree of professionalism, adherence to high quality standards, and attention to detail

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Theoretical and hands-on experience of AWS services on SaaS
    • Experience with AWS GovCloud desired, C2S strongly preferred
    • AWS GovCloud (US) isolated AWS region designed to allow U.S. government agencies and customers to move sensitive workloads into the cloud by addressing their specific regulatory and compliance requirements
