  • Overview

    SCCI is seeking a Logistician who will directly support the customer’s Lifecycle Engineering efforts, from engineering planning through logistics operations including inventory management, tracking and movement. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA


    The Logistician will help optimize the logistics demand and support processes supporting supply chain logistics in the rapid development environment and the initial outfitting role.


    Planning and Tracking activities, such as:

    • Developing and maintaining master delivery and receipt schedules. 
    • Developing a maintaining a method for tracking all system components from early stages of engineering Technical Data Package (TDP) finalization (in conjunction with configuration management), through procurement requests (purchasing), and receipt of final product.
    • Tracking actions, issues and assignments for management, ensuring on-time completion.
    • Coordinating with Engineers, Testing, and Quality Assurance teams to track hardware readiness, testing status and assignment priorities.

    Materiel Handling and Tracking activities, such as:

    • Managing hardware preparation, staging and delivery of Weapon System Components for direct integration with final tactical platform.
    • Creating and tracking Engineering/Test Work Orders.
    • Inputting, organizing and maintaining source data.


    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Must be a U.S. CITIZEN and have at least an ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE
    • High school degree or equivalent
    • 5+ years of Engineering, Acquisition, Logistics Support, Configuration Management or related experience
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel and Project
    • Ability to work independently and on a team
    • Excellent writing skills

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Experience with a Weapon System or Weapon Control System
    • Experience supporting DOD Logistics
    • Experience and proficiency in managing and implementing COTs bar-coding software systems is desired
