    SCCI is seeking a Senior Test Engineer who will provide technical support as a system and component tester for the Naval Engineering Management Systems team. (Experience with the Navy Data Environment (NDE) centralized database and web-based application used to manage Navy Modernization, Maintenance, Logistics, and Workload & Performance Ship Systems a plus.)

     

    This position is with the Requirements, Test, and Training (RT&T) group in support of rapid development of software information systems supporting the Navy and other major DoD programs.

     

    A successful candidate will bring general knowledge of information systems design, test and troubleshooting methods and processes, such as those demonstrated in academic, professional or military laboratory environments.  The candidate must demonstrate the ability to learn new technical concepts quickly. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA and is expected to start in the June 2018 timeframe.

    Responsibilities

    This position will be part of a team that is responsible for the independent evaluation and conformance of software functionality and documentation products required for application system release. This position will support software test and training activities.  The duties performed will be in accordance with the customer’s Test and Evaluation requirements and associated test documentation, to include the following:

    • Develop Test Procedures / Plans for a variety of system tests
    • Conduct Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) of corrected application deficiencies, participate in regression testing, endurance testing, and provide procedural red line updates as required
    • Real time documentation of critical thinking/test methodology to ensure a valid test is performed to meet requirement specifications
    • Conduct System Testing of program requirements in accordance with technical application design documentation
    • Document and present findings to technical developer staff and act as liaison with the customer test community to convey test findings from the user community to the technical development team

    Qualifications

    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
    • Bachelor's degree required
    • 20 years relevant test engineer experience to include:
      • Six (6) years of increasingly professional experience developing test programs and procedures including development of test plans, test scenarios and documenting test results to validate functional requirements
      • Three (3) years of experience working with software development teams conducting formal and informal reviews throughout the development life cycle to validate requirements and implementations
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experienced in Software Quality Assurance (SQA), Software Configuration Management (SCM)
    • Experience working with the Windows operating environment, and the Microsoft Office Suite
    • Ability to
      • Work in a fast paced, rapidly changing range/field environment
      • Work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, military personnel
      • Work with others to meet established goals and program schedules
      • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Active Secret Security Clearance is highly preferred
    • In-depth knowledge of SQL databases
    • In-depth knowledge of Naval Data Environment applications including but not limited to Program.net and RMMCO.net is highly preferred
