Overview

SCCI is seeking several Systems Integration Engineer’s to support IBM Project Rational Tools that include Rhapsody, ClearCase, DOORS and other IBM tools. Rational ClearCase is a family of computer software tools for supporting software configuration management of source code and other software development assets, including revision control. ClearCase forms the base for configuration management for many large and medium sized businesses and military projects, which can handle projects with hundreds or thousands of developers. These positions are available immediately and located in Dahlgren, Virginia.

Responsibilities

The Systems Integration Engineer will do the following but is not limited to:

  • Design and implement networked ClearCase client/server or distribution systems
  • Work closely with the customer and other engineers to ensure system requirements are met
  • Understanding of Unified Change Management or UCM as a set of policies and processes on top of ClearCase
  • Understanding of ClearCase license server, ClearCase registry server and ClearCase VOBs and Views servers’ administration
  • Be responsible for work that involves planning and delivery of customer support services including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and training in response to customer requirements
  • Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to identify all internal and external project baseline dependencies
  • Must be a flexible team player with the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent tasks in a diverse environment
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements related to software configuration and deployment
  • Ability to assist management and staff with change management and emergency deployment procedures
  • Manage accounts, user rights, and access to application systems Rhapsody, ClearCase, DOORS
  • Provide customer training
  • Maintain problem tracking and resolution databases
  • Create documentation for end-users
  • Provide feedback to application users regarding system status, events, and issues

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to successfully pass a background investigation
  • High School diploma, or equivalent
  • 5+ years using and administering CM tools to store, track, and manage configuration items Diagnose and resolve problems in response to customer reported incidents
  • 5+ years working with development teams and project managers to develop and maintain configuration baselines (development, test, production, etc.) supporting complex systems, project engineering development and support models
  • 5 years experience in working customer service and applying customer support principles and methods
  • Understanding of ClearCase Versioned Object Base or VOB repository and Microsoft Windows domains, vobadmin domain users and ClearCase domain groups
  • Understanding of infrastructure security and ClearCase configurations to consider before rolling ClearCase out to a large development group
  • Experience with Software design tools such as Rhapsody, DOORS or comparable tools
  • Experience with requirements, use case analysis and UML modeling
  • Experience with scripting (C/C++, Ruby, Perl, Python, PHP, etc.)
  • Experience with agile (Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban, SAFe, etc)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs, to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Skill in applying various user training methods in response to customer requirements
  • Ability to report, respond to, and resolve customer requests in a manner that demonstrates tact, patience, and resilience

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Active Security Clearance is HIGHLY preferred
  • Prior experience with US Government/ DOD Agencies is a plus
  • IBM Certified Specialist – Rational Quality Manager and IBM Certified Solutions Expert – Collaborative Lifecycle Management preferred but not necessary
  • Administrator-level Windows operating system knowledge to support troubleshooting browser settings that impact application use
