Overview

Southeastern Computer Consultants, Incorporated (SCCI) is seeking a Technical Documentation Manager to provide leadership to a team of technical writers for Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) products for the US Navy. This position is immediately available and located in Austin, Texas.

Responsibilities

The Technical Documentation Manager will:

  • Manage the daily development activities of the technical writing team
  • Coordinate with functional area managers to ensure product development milestones are met
  • Maintain and manage IETM development processes
  • Maintain and implement style guide standards
  • Manage documentation lifecycle
  • Create and manage development schedules for IETMs
  • Analyze, develop, and evaluate detailed plans, goals, and objectives in support of IETM deliverables
  • Interface with the customer

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to successfully pass a background investigation
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 3-5 years of experience managing the development and production of electronic technical documentation
  • Must have great people skills and proven experience managing a group of technical employees
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Strong problem solving ability
  • Experience with US Navy documentation
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Experience with mark-up and browser-based presentation technologies such as DITA, XML, and HTML
  • Experience supporting military or government documentation standards
