SCCI has an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance Engineer in Dahlgren, VA. This position will be responsible for the overarching quality assurance elements of the ongoing BMS (Battle Management System) hardware development projects. The QA Engineer will also be responsible for the development and maintenance of a Quality Assurance program that is tailored to the needs of the hardware development efforts on going and planned. This position supports the design engineers in developmental design and testing activities of gun and tracking systems to ensure that critical and major characteristics that require quality inspection and documentation are captured in the necessary quality assurance checks and documentation.


Responsibilities and tasking include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain a Quality Assurance program for ongoing development projects
  • Monitor all operations that affect quality
  • Supervise and guide quality inspections, such as Physical Configuration Audits
  • Develop and maintain procedures to inspect and document the quality conformance of all hardware procured for delivery by the Operations Team
  • Assure the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes and final output
  • Appraise requirements and make sure they are satisfied
  • Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data
  • Review current standards and policies
  • Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation


Essential Skills and Experience: 

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have a minimum of an ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE
  • (5) years of experience in Quality  Assurance,  Risk  Management  and  continuous improvement, in particular, MIL- STD-1916 and like industrial standards
  • Proven  written  and  verbal  communication  skills,  including  advising  management  on  complex matters
  • (5) years of experience  in  the  establishment,  implementation,  review  or  continuous  improvement  of  internal controls, policies, practices and processes
  • Ability to identify and analyze problems and to develop and recommend solutions
  • Possess a high degree of technical knowledge in a relevant engineering field
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with engineers, technicians, other team members, and sponsors
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize tasks and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and effectively
  • Possess  and  promote  a  commitment  to  service  excellence  and  the  continuous improvement  of service standards
  • Ability  to  adapt  and  maintain  effectiveness  through  major  changes  in  work  tasks  or  work environment
