Overview

SCCI has an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance Engineering Technician to provide support to the H40 Engineering Services contract at Naval Surface Warfare - Dahlgren. (NSWCDD). This position is located in Dahlgren, VA

Responsibilities

The Quality Assurance Engineering Technician will:

  • Provide support to the engineering team
  • Support the engineering IPT in multiple areas including research and development, manufacturing, inspecting products / conducting tests (qualification, verification, etc.) and the collection and analysis of data 
  • Generate documentation supporting the systems engineering life-cycle 
  • Must have the ability to read and understand both schematics (electrical) and blueprints/drawings (mechanical)
  • Ability to use or understand CAD software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, EagleSoft, Visio, etc..)
  • Ability to demonstrate sound mechanical reasoning with the ability to work with a wide range of tools and test equipment
  • Familiarity with industry standards concerning sampling and acceptance procedures (MIL-STD-414, DOD-STD-2101, NASM33540, etc…)
  • Knowledge of military wiring and cable building/testing techniques
  • Must be familiar with safety wiring and inspection criteria
  • Preferably have a background or knowledge of fabrication, machining and welding

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN and have a minimum of an ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE
  • 5+ years general experience in applying engineering services on launcher, missile, weapon, or weapon control system components and assemblies
  • Must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, as well as horizontal integrations across the other teams
  • PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe and Outlook is required
  • Must have the ability to work effectively within a team
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required
